QHS Careers Advisor and VET coordinator Ms Saunders recntly assisted over 30 Yr 11 students through their Vocational Education and Training (VET) inductions with TAFE NSW.
Ms Saunders is also working with Yr12 students and Careers Network to finalise their VET Work Placements.
If any students have any questions about the Vet – please contact Ms Saunders during school hours.
Today’s inductions come as the Sydney Morning Herald quoted a study by the University of Melbourne finding those with Vocational Education Training (VET) qualifications were 2.5 times more likely than those with a Masters Degree or PhD to have a permanent job.
QHS Principal, Worley congratulated students on their inductions today as the school aims to offer every student a bespoke pathway to their future goals.
“The aim of every student is different, they can choose to study through University or other further education provider after school, or they can undertake VET, Apprenticeships or other - our goal is to get each student where they want to be,” he said.
QHS offers a variety of bespoke pathways for students to be able to achieve their future career and personal goals and the school and takes great pride in the variety of pathways, be it be academic, industry or apprenticeships.
Vocational Education and Training (VET) is education and training that focuses on providing skills for work.
