Miss Singleton is retraining from music to mathematics and is undertaking a 3-week Practicum at QHS.
The Gunnedah local, who teaches at manilla Central School chose to extend her professional skills as there is a demand for maths teachers in NSW and because she wanted to extend her skill base.
“There are some cross-over concepts between music and mathematics, and I teach in a very practical way. Teaching is an ever-changing profession, it is a career that is always adapting and growing, and I am very happy to be here at QHS,” said Ms Singleton, who has - so far - been teaching from Year 7 to 11.
“We would like to welcome Miss Singleton to Quirindi Mathematics Department, and it will be a great learning experience for both our staff and Miss Singleton as she brings many years of teaching experience to our Faculty,” said Head Teacher Mathematics, Ms Robertson.
QHS are excited that Ms Singleton has chosen to do her retraining of Mathematics here.
“As a school, we aim to have many opportunities over the next three weeks to discuss and share professional knowledge and practice as well,” concluded Ms Robertson.
