BIG WIN FOR QHS

QUIRINDI HIGH SCHOOL BOYS TOUCH TEAM - MAKE TOP TEN IN NSW
The Quirindi High School Open Boys Touch Football side played host to Bonnyrigg High for the first round of the state finals of the Combined High School Knockout.

Quirindi had prepared well for the game and were steeled for a big performance. A large contingent of Quirindi locals were out to cheer on their side and from their first touch of the football things were looking good for Quirindi.

They scored with their first use of the football and then again three more times in the first 10 minutes of the match. To their credit Bonnyrigg never gave up. QHS would score a further two times and twice to see the half time score in Quirindi's favour 6-2.

The second half saw the play move from end to end with neither side wanting to let in a try with the Quirindi players putting their bodies on the line in some desperate defensive efforts. Quirindi went on to score two more tries in the second half to Bonnyrigg's one. The final score 8-3 Quirindi's way.
This outstanding victory will now see the team contest the state final (top 10 in NSW) mid- August in Bateau bay. The team is to be congratulated on an outstanding effort and are urged to continue to train hard and strive for further success.

Coach Mr. Harris and the side would like to thank Mr. Gregory Chambers, Andrew Cohen and Aaron King for their continued efforts in supporting the team; they couldn't do it without you. Congratulations to the team and coach Harris who achieved his goal - 3 years in the making!
