Get More Out of Your Internet Searching – Try these simple tips

  • Search engines cannot answer questions.

Search engines are specialised web sites that help you find what you are looking for on the net. The results are based on keywords entered. Remember, search engines cannot answer questions. They just find websites that have something to do with keywords you have used in your search.

  • Place keywords in "QUOTATION MARKS" for a more effective search. The search engine will look for this specific phrase when searching the net.

Google will search for "sugar cookie" recipes, not cookie recipes with sugar in them.

  • You do not have to include punctuation or sentences in a search bar. Just keywords are required.

  • If you do not want the search engine to find certain keywords then type a HYPHEN  (-) directly in front of the word with no space. This will exclude this term from the search.
