ORIENTATION DAY 2020

orientation

The excitement was palpable at QHS recently as Year 6 students from across the area attended Orientation Day.

The delighted students were met by current members of the QHS SRC and received their Orientation Day packs – inclusive of some bright yellow sunglasses.

The ‘Acknowledgement of Country’ was presented by Hallee Nean Bullpit and Janahri Darcy from Quirindi Public School.

Year 7, 2021 Advisers, Caitlin Daniel and Jarrad Maxwell welcomed the students and Principal Worley gave his address, before Deputy, Miss Loughrey presented on QHS procedures including the Merit/Demerit System, Bus Lines, Uniform requirements and Communication.

Other key staff were introduced to students including Head Teachers, ALCO Megan Outer bridge and Clontarf representatives.

The ‘2021 Peer Bonding Excursion’ and extracurricular activity opportunities were also discussed, and students undertook a letter ‘To their Future Self’ activity.

After a recess, the excited students met their Year 10 Buddies and undertook a series of fun-filled activities as groups.

Today also offered students an opportunity to collect uniforms and book packs.

School uniforms for incoming Year 7 students will also be available to purchase from the QHS Canteen – IF COVID RESTRICTIONS ALLOW – on Wednesday 27th and Thursday 28th January 2021 from 10am to 2pm.

Thank you to all parents who were unable to attend – due to COVID restrictions – your students had a fabulous day.

Thank you also to all students who attended today’s Orientation Day, it was a pleasure to host you.

We look forward to officially welcoming you to our school and school community on your first day of High School - Friday January 29th 2021.

Much excitement from all at QHS.
