IMMUNISATIONS

school

Year 7 QHS students had their human papillomavirus (HPV) and diphtheria-tetanuspertussis (dTpa) – Gardasil – vaccines today.

These vaccines are recommended by the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) and funded under the National Immunisation Program.

Thank you to Jacquie, Tanika and Nat from Hunter New England Health who administer over 1000 vaccines to students across the region in Year 7 and 10 every year.

It is advised by health professionals that the tetanuspertussis shot (given to students today) will last for 10 years.

“I’ve been fortunate to have been assisting students with their vaccination for over a decade,” said Jacqui who added the team will be back at QHs is six months to administer the second round of injections to Year 7 students and injections to Year 10 students.

Thank you Ms Saunders for coordinating today.
