HEART WORK

school

Mrs Bathos’ Year 8 Science class used the QHS ‘Learning Dispositions’ of ‘Curiosity’ and ‘Self-Regulation’ in their recent class.

“Students have been learning how the body works and in particular how different parts of the body function, including how the heart functions,” said Mrs Batho.

As part of their scientific discovery, students dissected sheep hearts to better understand the differing parts and roles of a heart.

“We’ve been learning about circulatory and respiratory systems and how they work together to supply cells with the oxygen and nutrients they need to function,” said Year 8 student Hannah Seymour, who added… “It was interesting to dissect the heart and see how the different parts work together it really helped my learning.”

Miss Batho congratulated students on their focussed participation in the class.
