QHS Year 9 + 10 + 11 Agriculture and Primary Industry students have had an enlightening and engaging attending Australia’s premier agri-tech and innovation event, the ‘AgSmart Expo’ in Tamworth today.

 

Since 1973 AgQuip has focused on innovative agricultural equipment and practices, facilitating the important interchange of information about new products and services from manufacturers to consumers.

 

Now with technology and practices so rapidly changing the face of Australian primary industry, the AgQuip organisers presented AgSmart, a new spotlight to focus attention on national agriculture's new technology and innovation.

 

“Students saw and experienced lots of o innovative technologies to make farm management easier and more efficient. They absorbed a lot of information today and have certainly had their eyes opened to not only the new technologies but also the employment and business opportunities in the agricultural sector,” said Teacher Mrs Evans.

 

Sarah Hutchins, Cooper Brown, Brian Kurtz, Grace Hutchins, Eric Peatling, Joey Reedy, Brodie Saunders, Jack Butler, Faith Green and Lani Abbott-Blundell have head a big and informative day.

 

“Lani thoroughly enjoyed the experience and learnt a lot. Brian commented that he was impressed with new technologies and Brodie particularly enjoyed trying out the new tech in the Case tractors cabs.”

 

Joey spoke for all the students in thanking Miss Evans for organising and also QHS Agricultural Farm Manager, Peter Hird for driving students and teacher to the event.
