QHS Year 10 Geography class undertook an excursion to the Awabakal Education Centre in Newcastle.
On this excursion students were treated to the expertise of teaching staff who led the education sessions on the repurposing and urbanisation of the Newcastle Foreshore.
Students investigated the impact of urban processes on inner city Newcastle. The causes of such change along with the success of such changes was also investigated and debated.
“On the second day, we analysed the sustainability work at Redhead Beach that has transformed this area into a unique habitat for local wildlife and local people! We stayed at the idyllic Glen Rock Scout Camp,” said QHS HSIE Teacher Mrs Schofield.
