Year 12 Biology students and teachers Mrs Nel attended a science workshop at the University of New England, Tamworth location.
The student workshop: Body at war (Insight into infection, immunity and immunisation) assisted students in better preparing for their HSC.
Presented by Professor Ketheesan, who specialises in Immunology, the day also offered some hands-on experience about immune system, including how vaccines work and the importance of vaccines in infection prevention.
After the presentation and practical, students had the opportunity to participate and a Q&A session as part of the event.
“We also did blood group typing where teachers fingers were pricked to determine their blood groups. It was a very engaging day and was topped off with a great burger for lunch,” said Mrs Nel.
