In a remarkable feat, QHS student Oscar Perkins, is set to make waves in the world of rugby league as he has been chosen to referee the curtain raiser game at the upcoming NRL round in Tamworth.

The highly anticipated match will take place next Friday night and will see the West Tiger Cubs go head-to-head with the Greater Northern Bulldogs, just before the main event featuring the Tigers and Rabbitohs.

Oscar's selection as the referee for this prestigious game is a testament to his dedication and hard work in pursuit of his referee goals. This is a significant milestone in his burgeoning career and a massive achievement for the young talent.

Adding to his impressive repertoire, Oscar recently showcased his officiating skills at the 'Country Cup Northern Region' finals held in Coffs Harbour.

His competence and fair play on the field have earned him recognition, leading to this golden opportunity to officiate the NRL curtain raiser.

Moreover, Oscar's skills have also taken him to the grand stage of the 'Nations of Origin' games in Sydney.

The Nations of Origin games in Sydney also featured two other QHS students Nash Perkins (Oscars' brother) and Braydon Nean who played at this tournament for the Kamilaroi Goannas.
