CAPERS

school

The excitement was palpable at QHS recently, as students from across the region gathered for massed dance rehearsals in anticipation of CAPERS 2023.

Enthusiastic young dancers came together to perfect their moves and fine-tune their performances for the upcoming event.

Former QHS students Kayleb and Kieran Waters, lent their expertise to the rehearsals. The duo met with students, collaborating on choreography that beautifully weaves in elements of the local Aboriginal culture. This cultural infusion adds a unique dimension to the dance, showcasing the rich heritage of the region.

The dance itself is set to feature an impressive ensemble of approximately 250 students, ranging from Kindergarten to senior High School and is just one piece of the larger puzzle that is CAPERS 2023, an arena-style arts production that promises to captivate audiences with its vibrant display of talent and creativity.

The grand finale of CAPERS 2023 will see around 2500 students from public schools across the New England area of New South Wales gather at the Tamworth Regional Entertainment and Conference Centre (TRECC).

This multi-day event promises to be a celebration of art, culture, and education. From stunning vocal displays to music and dance performances, the venue will be alive with the energy of young performers showcasing their incredible skills.

CAPERS is more than just a showcase of talent; it's an invitation to all interested students to be a part of something larger than themselves.

The event presents a fantastic opportunity for participants to experience the thrill of a large-scale arena-style performance and be a part of the creative tapestry that is CAPERS.
